Invacare to lay off about 100 employees

Invacare Corp. said it will lay off about 100 employees as part of an ongoing infrastructure alignment.

The company expects the reduction to generate roughly $6.6 million in annualized pretax savings. For the realignment, the company expects to incur restructuring charges of about $2.2 million on a pretax basis.

Invacare said it is undergoing a three-phase business change, to transform from a generalist medical equipment company into one focused on solving complex clinical needs for post-acute care.
