B2W - Companhia Digital said its second-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of 36 Brazilian centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of a loss of 41 centavos per share.
The per-share loss grew 18.6% year over year from 30 centavos.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 92.7 million reais, compared with a loss of 77.6 million reais in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 79.9% from negative 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 5.9% year over year to 1.78 billion reais from 1.89 billion reais, and total operating expenses declined 7.3% from the prior-year period to 1.69 billion reais from 1.83 billion reais.
Reported net income totaled a loss of 106.0 million reais, or a loss of 41 centavos per share, compared to a loss of 82.4 million reais, or a loss of 32 centavos per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to 3.13 reais.
