Credit Suisse names Greater China CEO, chairman for 2 Hong Kong units

Switzerland-based Credit Suisse Group AG named Mervyn Chow CEO for its operations in Greater China and Carsten Stoehr as chairman of Credit Suisse Hong Kong Ltd. and Credit Suisse Hong Kong Securities Ltd.

The Swiss bank said Oct. 11 that Chow's new role is in addition to his existing responsibilities as CEO for China and co-head of investment banking and capital markets in Asia-Pacific. Stoehr will also retain his role as head of the Asia-Pacific financing group.

Chow and Stoehr will assume their new roles following Neil Harvey's retirement as head of Hong Kong and chairman of Greater China. Harvey will remain with the bank until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition, the bank said.
