Allstate expands ride-hailing coverage; Hub forms industry specialty practices

Allstate Corp. started offering ride-hailing coverage in five more states for customers who drive for a transportation network company like Lyft or Uber. First introduced in 2015, Ride for Hire is now also available in Oregon, Connecticut, Alaska, Wyoming and North Carolina.

Hub International Ltd. launched its first eight industry specialty practices that include transportation, financial institutions, entertainment/sports, construction, agriculture, hospitality, real estate and healthcare.

QBE North America, part of QBE Insurance Group Ltd., announced a strategic program underwriting alliance with Huntersure LLC to offer its professional liability coverage for small to mid-size architectural, engineering and contractor businesses through Huntersure.

Pursuant to a four-year agreement, PartnerRe Ltd. and Farmers Edge will jointly develop new agriculture insurance products in main crop-growing areas worldwide.

New York Life Insurance Co. introduced Value Whole Life, a lower-premium whole life product that gives policy owners guaranteed cash value with eligibility to receive future dividends.

XL Catlin launched its accident and health insurance solution, Protect and Assist, in Australia. XL Catlin is the global brand used by XL Group Ltd's insurance and reinsurance companies.

Lincoln Financial Group expanded its suite of protection-focused life insurance offerings with the launch of Lincoln WealthPreserve Indexed Universal Life. The new product offers affordable death benefit protection with the potential of cash accumulation. Lincoln Financial Group is the marketing name for Lincoln National Corp. and its affiliates.

John Hancock Insurance announced the availability of a critical illness benefit rider on its life insurance policies. The optional rider is initially available on John Hancock's Protection indexed universal life insurance and Accumulation indexed universal life insurance products, and will be available on additional single-life permanent products in the future. John Hancock is a division of Manulife Financial Corp.
