SECOM fiscal Q3 profit climbs 8.0% YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, came to ¥102.74 per share, an increase of 8.0% from ¥95.13 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥22.42 billion, an increase of 8.0% from ¥20.76 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.7% from 9.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 7.6% year over year to ¥230.07 billion from ¥213.83 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.6% from the prior-year period to ¥195.94 billion from ¥182.18 billion.

Reported net income increased 15.6% from the prior-year period to ¥25.18 billion, or ¥115.38 per share, from ¥21.78 billion, or ¥99.77 per share.

As of Feb. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.11.
