QVC Inc. on Oct. 11 opened its global business services center in Krakow, Poland.

The facility's opening comes as the multimedia retail company plans to streamline portions of the finance, human resources, information technology and legal functions for its operations in France, Germany, Italy, the U.K. and the U.S., beginning in 2017. QVC is expecting yearly savings of up to about $12 million once the center is fully functioning.

The Liberty Interactive Corp. unit said it will hire 200 to 300 employees for its Poland office within the next two years.
