Kose fiscal Q4 profit climbs 30.1% YOY

Kose Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥72.15 per share, a gain of 30.1% from ¥55.45 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥4.12 billion, an increase of 30.1% from ¥3.16 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 7.0% from 6.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 10.9% on an annual basis to ¥58.51 billion from ¥52.76 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 9.1% from the prior-year period to ¥51.84 billion from ¥47.49 billion.

Reported net income decreased 11.4% from the prior-year period to ¥2.12 billion, or ¥37.23 per share, from ¥2.40 billion, or ¥42.00 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥253.42 per share, a gain of 19.0% from ¥212.96 per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥14.46 billion, an increase of 19.0% from ¥12.15 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 9.4% from the prior-year period to ¥207.82 billion from ¥190.05 billion, and total operating expenses increased 8.2% on an annual basis to ¥185.17 billion from ¥171.11 billion.

The company said reported net income grew 8.3% year over year to ¥12.06 billion, or ¥211.36 per share, in the full year, from ¥11.13 billion, or ¥195.14 per share.
