Corus to sell 2 channels to Bell Media for C$200M

Canada's Corus Entertainment Inc. agreed to sell its French-language specialty channels Historia and Séries+ to Bell Media for about C$200 million, subject to customary price adjustments.

The company decided to sell Historia and Séries+ following a review of the company's assets and strategic priorities for 2017, Corus President and CEO Doug Murphy said in an Oct. 17 news release.

Corus will continue to operate the two channels until closing of the deal, which needs to secure approval from Canada's Competition Bureau and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

Bell Media is a unit of BCE Inc.
