Enbridge closes sale of interest in 2 renewable facilities

Enbridge Inc. has completed the sale of its 49% equity interest in the 252-MW Cedar Point Wind Farm in Colorado and the 52-MW Silver State North solar project in Nevada to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

Enbridge in early May unveiled plans to divest interests in certain North American and German renewable power assets through a new joint venture for C$1.75 billion.

Cedar Point delivers power to Xcel Energy Inc. subsidiary Public Service Co. of Colorado under a 20-year power purchase agreement. Silver State sells its output to the Nevada Power Co., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy under a 25-year power contract.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the transaction on July 20. (FERC docket EC18-100)
