Brazil’s central bank: Savings deposits continue to decline in March

Withdrawals exceeded deposits by some 5.38 billion Brazilianreais in March, according to data released by the Banco Central do Brasil on April 6.

This is the thirdmonth in a row with savings withdrawals surpassing deposits in the country, whichhas raised the negative balance in 2016 to 24.05 billion reais, the central banknoted.

As of April 5, US$1 wasequivalent to 3.67 Brazilian reais.
