California American Water acquires Rio Plaza Water

California American Water Co. has assumed ownership and operations of Rio Plaza Water Co. in Ventura County, Calif., from the Nickel family. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Rio Plaza water system serves approximately 500 customers. Under their deal, California American Water will be providing those customers with state-regulated potable water service beginning June 4, according to a statement released on the same day.

California American Water is a subsidiary of American Water Works Co. Inc.
