Ceylon Graphite Corp.'s Sarcon Development (Pvt.) Ltd. unit started commercial production at the K1 graphite project in Sri Lanka.

The company said Dec. 13 that it is in talks with several end-users and natural graphite processors over sales contracts.

The milestone was achieved nearly a month after Ceylon Graphite secured an environmental protection license for the project. The mining license was granted in August.
