Genie RetailEnergy Inc. is seeking FERC approval to acquire fromKrieger Enterprises LLCfor an undisclosed sum.

Retail Energy owns Lakeville, Minn.-based and Town SquareEnergy East LLC, both of which are wholesale power marketers and are engaged inretail power sales, according to an application filed with FERC.

At closing, Retail Energy and its subsidiaries will becomesubsidiaries of Genie Retail Energy.

FERC has been asked to approve the transaction by Aug. 22.(EC16-156)

Genie Retail supplies electricity and natural gas toresidential and small business customers in Washington D.C., Illinois,Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania through its and ResidentsEnergy LLC subsidiaries.
