Ariake Japan fiscal Q3 profit climbs 23.0% YOY

Ariake Japan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥51.23 per share, a gain of 23.0% from ¥41.64 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.63 billion, a gain of 23.0% from ¥1.33 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 14.4% from 13.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 11.3% on an annual basis to ¥11.29 billion from ¥10.15 billion, and total operating expenses rose 10.8% on an annual basis to ¥9.25 billion from ¥8.35 billion.

Reported net income increased 6.7% year over year to ¥1.72 billion, or ¥53.98 per share, from ¥1.61 billion, or ¥50.59 per share.

As of Feb. 6, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.01.
