Power Root fiscal H1 profit falls YOY

Power Root Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 was 3 Malaysian sen per share, a decline of 31.7% from 5 sen per share in the first half ended Aug. 31, 2013.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 11.0 million ringgits, a decrease of 31.6% from 16.1 million ringgits in the first half ended Aug. 31, 2013.

Total revenue rose 17.1% on an annual basis to 189.5 million ringgits from 161.9 million ringgits, and total operating expenses climbed 26.6% on an annual basis to 170.8 million ringgits from 134.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income decreased 27.3% year over year to 14.3 million ringgits, or 5 sen per share, from 19.7 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share.

As of Nov. 25, US$1 was equivalent to 3.35 ringgits.
