ArcLight completes purchase of nonmanaging interests in 2 wind facilities

ArcLight Capital Partners LLC on Dec. 21 completed the purchase of the nonmanaging interests in the 50-MW Kumeyaay wind facility in California and the 50-MW Mendota Hills wind farm in Illinois.

After acquiring the indirect interests in the wind farms through its portfolio company, Leeward Renewable Energy LLC, ArcLight has become the sole owner of the two facilities.

Located in San Diego County, the Kumeyaay wind farm supplies electricity to Sempra Energy subsidiary San Diego Gas & Electric Co. under a contract expiring Dec. 24, 2025. The Mendota wind farm, in Compton and Lee counties, Ill., sells its output into the PJM Interconnection LLC market on a merchant basis. (FERC docket EC17-27)
