FremantleMedia unit, 3 Asian SVOD platforms ink distribution deals

FremantleMediaLtd. unit FremantleMedia International has struck contentdistribution agreements with three Asian subscription video-on-demand serviceproviders, according to an April 5 news release.

Southeast Asian over-the-top platform iflix acquired therights to several drama, comedy, factual documentary and lifestyle programs,including "Merlin," "Blue," "The IT Crowd," "UntoldHistory of the United States" and "Simply Nigella."

Meanwhile, Thailand-basedDOONEE and iQiyiTaiwansecured SVOD rights to popular formats like "American Idol," "'sGot Talent" and "The X Factor UK." DOONEE also acquiredhomebuilding format "Grand Designs" and selected shows by celebritychef Jamie Oliver, while documentary series "Soundbreaking" andfashion reality show "Project Runway" will become part of iQiyiTaiwan's content portfolio.
