FDIC lifts consent order on Ameris Bank

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has terminated its December 2016 consent order against Ameris Bank.

The enforcement action alleged weaknesses in the Moultrie, Ga.-based bank's Bank Secrecy Act compliance program. In the year since the order, Ameris Bancorp has remained acquisitive and made changes to senior management.
