MGE Energy Q2 net income falls on timing of O&M costs, unfavorable weather

MGE Energy Inc. on Aug. 4 booked second-quarter 2017 net income of $15.5 million, or 45 cents per share, compared to $16.2 million, or 47 cents per share, in the same quarter of 2016.

The company attributed the slight dip in the earnings to the "timing of 2017 operating and maintenance costs in the second quarter and unfavorable weather conditions."

Second-quarter operating revenues grew to $126.5 million in 2017, from $121.6 million a year ago, while operating income was down to $26.6 million, from $28.2 million.
