Mizuho Americas LLC hired Stancel Riley as a managing director and head of the company's financial sponsors group to be based in New York.

Riley, who has 20 years of investment banking experience, previously was managing director of Wells Fargo & Co.'s financial sponsors group.

New York-based Mizuho Americas is a unit of Japan-based Mizuho Financial Group Inc.
