Barclays Bank files mixed shelf with US SEC

BarclaysPlc unit BarclaysBank Plc on July 18 filed a Form F-3 registration statement to theU.S. Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the sale of an unspecifiedamount of certain securities from time to time at indeterminate prices.

The filing covers the sale of senior debt securities, datedsubordinated debt securities, warrants, preference shares and Americandepositary shares.

Net proceeds from any sales will support the development andexpansion of the bank's business and go toward strengthening its capital base.

The bank said the development and expansion may occurthrough the development of existing operations, the establishment of newsubsidiaries or acquisitions if suitable opportunities arise.
