South Ottumwa Savings Bank board member retires

South Ottumwa Savings Bank announced Gene Carlson's retirement from its board after 40 years of service, the Ottumwa (Iowa) Courier reported.

Carslon, who worked under four company presidents, was part of the board instrumental in the bank's crisis survival in the 1980s, including its expansion through acquisitions from the 1990s until 2011.
