Wall Street moves: Lazard names global chiefs for banking, M&A

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of selected executive management changes among the major Wall Street investment banks and other notable moves. The changes are listed by announcement date in reverse chronological order.

May 22

Stifel Financial Corp. named Bill Farmer a managing director in its aerospace, defense and government services investment banking group. Farmer previously worked at Teneo Capital.

May 21

Maarten Meurs was named a managing director in William Blair & Co. LLC's financial sponsors group. Meurs previously worked at ABN AMRO Bank in Amsterdam.


Eaton Partners LLC named Steve Eaton head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Eaton previously was a partner and head of the company's New York office.


Desh Peramunetilleke was appointed Jefferies Group LLC's head of global microstrategy product in equity research. Peramunetilleke was previously head of microstrategy at CLSA.

May 20

Trevor Harrison was named head of BTIG Asia-Pacific client relationship management at BTIG LLC unit BTIG Asia-Pacific, in addition to his role as CEO of BTIG Singapore Pte. Ltd. Jorge Marrero, who previously worked at Execution Noble/Espirito Santo Securities HK, was appointed as managing director and COO of BTIG Hong Kong Ltd.

May 17

Matthieu Pigasse was named Lazard Ltd.'s global head of banking and deputy CEO of financial advisory in addition to his role as chairman and CEO of Lazard France and global head of sovereign advisory. Pigasse's position as global head of M&A will be taken over by Mark McMaster, vice chairman of investment banking and global head of industrials. McMaster will continue as global head of industrials.

May 16

William Seyle and Tim Hickey, who previously managed $1 billion in assets at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc., have moved to Raymond James Financial's employee unit, InvestmentNews reported.


Peter Heilbron joined LPL Financial LLC's corporate registered investment adviser platform. Heilbron, who owns Trace Wealth Advisors, previously managed about $1.1 billion of client advisory assets.


Joel Stephens was named executive managing director and head of capital markets of Birmingham, Ala.-based Regions Financial Corp. unit Regions Bank, replacing Terry Katon who is stepping down. Stephens most recently headed the real estate capital markets group at the bank.
