Cameco Port Hope conversion facility workers accept new 3-year CBA

CamecoCorp. said July 8 that unionized employees at its conversion facilityhave voted to accept a new collective bargaining agreement.

Approximately 230 employees represented by UnitedSteelworkers locals 13173 and 8562 agreed to a three-year contract whichincludes a 7% wage increase over the term of the agreement.

The company's Port Hope plant is the only uranium conversionfacility in Canada that is producing uranium hexafluoride and the onlycommercial supplier of uranium dioxide conversion services. The plant has atotal workforce of about 385.
