2 Virginia-based credit unions to merge

Winchester, Va.-basedWinchester Community FederalCredit Union is expected to merge into Fairfax, Va.-basedApple Federal CreditUnion on Aug. 3, 2015, according to Apple FCU's website.

The merger, approved byfederal regulators, was initiated by Winchester Community FCU to providelong-term financial stability to its members, Apple FCU added.

Pursuant to the deal,Winchester Community FCU member accounts will be migrated to Apple FCU's dataprocessing system. The Winchester branch and ATM will be permanently closedJuly 30, and full account assistance is expected to resume Aug. 3 at AppleFCU's Winchester branches.
