Eisler Capital hires Goldman exec; Ukraine state bank board candidate rejected

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a daily roundup of management and board changes at financial institutions in Europe. This feature excludes C-level leadership changes and previously reported stories.

Eisler Capital

* Eisler Capital (UK) Ltd., a hedge fund set up by former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executive Edward Eisler, hired Goldman Sachs' global head of electronic futures, Henry Howell, to serve in a business development role, Financial News reported.

Howell, who spent 16 years at the U.S. bank, took up his new role in July, according to the Aug. 22 report.

Ukreximbank

* The National Bank of Ukraine's committee on banking supervision and regulation and oversight of payment systems rejected Thorsten Paul's candidacy to serve as chairperson and an independent director on the supervisory board of JSC The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine, or Ukreximbank.

The move followed a review of five of the nine supervisory board members of the bank.

The central bank, meanwhile, approved the appointments of state representatives Victoriia Strakhova and Yurii Butsa to the board. Independent directors Olena Hordiienko and Serhii Konovets passed their interviews and test but a final decision on their candidacy will be made once discrepancies in their submitted documents are resolved, the regulator said.

Banque Cantonale Vaudoise

* Switzerland-based Banque Cantonale Vaudoise's board of directors will nominate Eftychia Fischer to serve on the board at the lender's next shareholding meeting on April 30, 2020. She will succeed Reto Donatsch, who will step down at the same meeting since as he is due to reach the age limit of 70.
