The U.S. Supreme Court said Oct. 7 that it will not hear San Diego Gas & Electric Co.'s appeal of a California Supreme Court case that rejected the utility's attempt to recover $379 million related to wildfires in 2007.
"SDG&E is disappointed in today's US Supreme Court decision denying our petition regarding its Wildfire Expense Memorandum Application," the Sempra Energy utility said in a statement. "SDG&E has shown that the fires occurred due to circumstances beyond our control, but nevertheless the application to spread the costs through rates was denied."
