Hachi-Ban Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 20 amounted to ¥33.72 per share, a decline of 6.9% from ¥36.23 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥108.0 million, a gain from ¥105.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 5.7% from 5.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 5.9% year over year to ¥1.89 billion from ¥1.78 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 6.4% year over year to ¥1.73 billion from ¥1.63 billion.
Reported net income grew 5.2% year over year to ¥102.0 million, or ¥31.84 per share, from ¥97.0 million, or ¥33.47 per share.
As of Oct. 27, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.71.
