Glencore to restore output at Collinsville colliery in Australia

Glencore Plc plans to resume full operations at its Collinsville coal joint venture in Queensland, Australia, as it sees growing demand from Southeast Asia for the mine's specific product.

The global mining major is looking to hire over 200 workers for the operation, where it reduced production by 2 million tonnes and cut 80 jobs in 2015.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk welcomed Glencore's decision to hire workers and recommence operations at the open-cut mine, according to an Oct. 11 Townsville Bulletin report.
