AE Industrial Partners buys aerospace assembly supplier Atlas Group

Middle-market private equity firm AE Industrial Partners LP paid an undisclosed sum to purchase Aerostructures Acquisition LLC, which does business as The Atlas Group.

The target company, which makes complex assemblies for commercial, military and business aircraft, is being merged with the private equity firm's portfolio company F.M.I. Inc.

AE said the combined entity allows for the manufacture of an extensive range of complex assemblies, including aircraft doors, engine nacelle structures, pressure bulkheads and a diverse set of other product families.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP were AE's legal and financial advisers, respectively. Dechert LLP was legal adviser to Atlas, with Lazard serving as its financial adviser.
