Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 193,890 lei, an increase of 15.5% from 167,900 lei in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.1% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 8.1% on an annual basis to 66.9 million lei from 61.9 million lei, and total operating expenses grew 6.9% on an annual basis to 66.9 million lei from 62.6 million lei.

Reported net income came to 78,910 lei, compared with 376,460 lei, or 0 bani per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Nov. 15, US$1 was equivalent to 4.21 Romanian lei.
