Marriott International Inc. will expand its 130-hotel luxury portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of 13 new properties in 2019.
Four The Ritz-Carlton-branded hotels will be opened during the year — The Ritz-Carlton, Xi'an and The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing in China in June and October, respectively; The Ritz-Carlton, Pune in India in September; and The Ritz-Carlton, Perth in Australia in October.
Marriott will also expand its JW Marriott brand in the region with five new properties, including the newly opened JW Marriott Hotel Qufu in China. In August, the global hospitality company will launch the brand in the Maldives and open JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong in China.
IRAPH SUI, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Okinawa, opened in Japan in January, and The St. Regis Hong Kong commenced operations in April. Two more hotels from Marriott's Luxury Collection will open in 2019 in Nanning, China, and Kolkata, India.
