NatGeo to debut new scripted series; Disney XD will premiere 'LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures'

* E!has picked up four new unscripted series, according to a May 4 Variety report.These series include "Cosmo Life," "The Abbey Diaries,""Famously Married" and "WAGS: Miami."

*BET will premiereits new series "Inside the Label" on May 17. The series is anoriginal docu-series and tells the stories of the rise and fall of iconicrecord labels. The network will also premiere the second season of itsdocu-series "BET Life Of" focusing on the life of Diddy according tothe May 2 pressrelease.

*HGTV greenlit thesecond season of its home renovation and flipping series "Good Bones."In a May 2 pressrelease, the network said the second season will have 12 episodesand will premiere in January 2017.

*National GeographicChannel has ordered a new scripted series called"Genius," Variety reportedApril 28. The anthology series is based on world's most brilliant innovators. AlbertEinstein will be featured in the first installment according to the report.

*Disney XD willpremiere "LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures" on June 20. OnApril 28, the network said it will air a new episode each day till June 23 ofthe action comedy series set in the Star Wars universe.

*Travel Channelsaid that from June it will air four new water-themed series. According to anApril 28 press release the shows will include "Top Secret SwimmingHoles," "7 Water Wonders," "Island Explorers" and"Life's a Beach."

* HGTVsaid April 28 that"Brother vs. Brother" will return on the network for its fourthseason June 1. The series will have six episodes.

*AMC April 27 that it will airthe last seven episodes of the final season of "Hell on Wheels,"starting June 11. The episodes will immediately be followed by the eight-episodelimited-event series "The American West."

*The second season of "Junkyard Empire" aired May 4 on 'scable network Velocity. According to the April 27 , the series is about afather and son who own a lucrative junkyard business and have differentphilosophies on how to manage it.

*Bravo Media unveiledsix new shows and 14 returning unscripted series April 27. The new seriesinclude "Yours, Mine or Ours" and "Then & Now with AndyCohen," as well as the working titles "Relative Success with TabathaCoffey," "Summer House," "The Lodge" and"Oklahoma City."

*CBS renewed all ofits daytime shows for 2016-2017, VarietyreportedApril 27. The shows include "Let's Make a Deal," "The Bold andthe Beautiful," "The Price is Right" and "The Talk."

* OnApril 27 ION Media NetworksInc.'s network Qubo, a channel catering to young children, five new series. Theseries will total 208 half-hour episodes and will include "George andMartha," "Grossology," "Ned's Newt," "NutriVentures" and "Stickin' Around."

*FOX News Channelrevealed the premiere date for the second season of "Legends &Lies." The specials called "Legends & Lies: The Patriots"will debut June 5. Bill O'Reilly will be the executive producer of the seriesthe network saidApril 27.

*FOX has orderedtwo new drama series for the 2016-2017 season. The network April 26 that "24:Legacy" is a spinoff of the network's previous show "24,"whereas "Star" is about three young singers trying to survive and getsuccessful in the cut-throat music industry.

*Walt Disney Co.'snetwork ABCdisclosed additional cast for its event-limited series "When We Rise."Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Denis O'Hare and David Hyde Pierce will bejoining the cast for part one of the seven-part series, the network April 26. The seriesfollows the personal and political struggles of a diverse group of LGBT men andwomen who helped the U.S. Civil Rights Movement to become what it is today.

* Variety reportedon May 4 that Huluhas renewed its series "The Path" for a second season. The firstseason of the show will end May 25.

*Netflix has renewedAshton Kutcher's "The Ranch" for a second season, according to anApril 29 tweetby the actor. The second season of the comedy will premiere in 2017.

* Inan April 29 pressrelease, Netflix said it has ordered a full season of"Marvel's The Punisher." Jon Bernthal will be cast as Frank Castle inthe "Marvel's Daredevil" spinoff.

*According to an April 29 Bloomberg News report,Snapchat has partnered with NBC to showcase the Rio Olympics. As per the deal, highlightsfrom the 2016 Olympics will be shown on the mobile app through a dedicatedchannel.

*Starting April 26, Destination America and The Lineup live streaming "Ann: TheHaunted Doll" for two weeks. The streaming is of Ann, a doll that issupposedly haunted and living in the New York offices of The Lineup.The audiences are encouraged to check out the live stream to see when shemoves, blinks, cries or waves.
