BP PLC unit BP America Production Co. will invest around $12.5 million to fix cracked pipelines in La Plata County in southwest Colorado following three spills that released produced water and other chemicals into waterways around the county, according to a May 22 report from local newspaper The Durango Herald.

The company was also fined $68,000 as part of an agreement between BP and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission that was approved May 21, the Herald said.
