Goldman Sachs Group Inc. will lease space at the Marienturm tower that is being built in Frankfurt's financial district as it prepares for the U.K.'s European Union exit, Bloomberg News reported, citing an emailed statement by the firm.
According to people with knowledge of the deal, the lease covers about 10,000 square meters of office space, which could house about 1,000 workers. Goldman Sachs spokesman Sebastian Howell said the office space is part of the company's expansion plan in Germany and Brexit contingency plan, according to the report.
Pecan Development is the developer of the Marienturm tower, which will stand at 155 meters tall with 38 floors. It is expected to be completed in early 2019.
