India central bank lifts restrictions on Bharat Financial Inclusion

Foreign investors may once again buy shares in Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd. after the Reserve Bank of India lifted its restrictions on the microfinance lender.

The central bank said in a Dec. 5 notice that "the restrictions placed on the purchase of shares of [Bharat Financial Inclusion] are withdrawn with immediate effect." The restrictions were lifted as the aggregate shareholding by foreign investors in the company dropped below the prescribed limit.
