CommonwealthBank of Australia said March 31 that it raised A$1.45 billion fromits issuance of PERLSVIII capital notes.

The bank previously said that it will use the proceeds fromthe sale to meet Tier 1 capital requirements and for other business needs.

As of March 30, US$1was equivalent to A$1.30.
