Savannah Resources Plc completed an initial estimate of lithium resources for the Reservatorio deposit of the Mina do Barroso lithium project in northern Portugal, with inferred resources containing 32,000 tonnes of lithium oxide within 3.2 million tonnes grading 1.0% lithium oxide.
The analysis uses a cutoff of 0.5% lithium oxide and incorporates data from 20 reverse circulation drill holes completed this year. Mineralization remains open.
The Reservatorio deposit is one of at least eight pegmatite deposits on the mining lease and one of three deposits being drilled, according to a Dec. 18 news release, with an initial resource estimate for the Grandao deposit expected in the first quarter of 2018.
Savannah Resources agreed in late May to acquire a 75% interest in Mina do Barroso from a consortium of vendors led by Slipstream Resources Investments Pty. Ltd.
