Williams-Sonoma, Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 2 amounted to 69 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 63 cents per share.
EPS climbed 16.5% year over year from 59 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $65.4 million, an increase of 13.0% from $57.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.7% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 8.7% on an annual basis to $1.14 billion from $1.05 billion, and total operating expenses rose 8.3% year over year to $1.04 billion from $959.1 million.
Reported net income grew 13.7% year over year to $64.5 million, or 68 cents per share, from $56.8 million, or 58 cents per share.
