Trump calls on Senate Committee to probe 'fake news networks'

U.S President Donald Trump in an Oct. 5 tweet urged the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee to investigate "fake news networks" operating in the country following reports that U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had threatened to resign.

In a separate tweet, Trump pointed out Comcast Corp.'s NBC News of spreading "fake" news about Tillerson. In a statement on Oct. 4, Tillerson said he never considered leaving the post, while calling the news "erroneous rumors," the Los Angeles Times reported Oct. 4.

The committee is currently looking into claims that Trump conspired with Russia during the 2016 election.
