LVMH signals commitment to China by joining Shanghai trade fair

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE will participate in the second edition of the China International Import Expo in Shanghai from Nov. 5-10, according to a March 25 announcement on the company's social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.

LVMH, owner of labels like its namesake brand Louis Vuitton, fashion brand Christian Dior and champagne maker Moët & Chandon, made the announcement during Chinese President Xi Jinping's ongoing state visit in France from March 24-26.

The French luxury goods company also said it will showcase items from its many fashion houses across a 350-square-meter stall at the China International Import Expo. LVMH will also host events such as conferences, talks and master classes, as well as product launches during the five-day exhibition, Xinhuanet reported, citing a company statement.

The participation of the group and its different brands, a first for LVMH, was requested by both Chinese and French authorities and will reinforce China International Import Expo's success and the company's commitment to China, according to Xinhuanet.
