Amadeus IT posts higher first-half profit YOY

Spain-based Amadeus IT Group SA reported higher second-quarter profit as the travel industry data processing firm's distribution and IT solutions businesses boosted revenues.

The company reported adjusted profit of €606.8 million, or €1.41 per share, in the six-month period that ended in June, up from €572.2 million, or €1.31 per share, in the same period a year prior.

The S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate was 69 cents, versus the actual 70 cents.

Revenue totaled €2.48 billion, up 4.1% from €2.38 billion. Distribution revenue rose 2.6% to €1.56 billion from €1.52 billion, and IT solutions posted revenue of €913.7 million, up 6.8% from €855.2 million.

EBITDA came in at €1.08 billion for the first half, up 8.2% from €996.3 million. EBITDA margin stood at 43.5% compared to 41.9% in the prior-year period.
