4 lawsuits vs. Associated-Bank Mutual deal dismissed

Plaintiffs in four merger-related lawsuits have agreed to dismiss their claims against Bank Mutual Corp. and Associated Banc-Corp, following the release of additional disclosures.

The cases were Schumel v. Bank Mutual, Paquin v. Bank Mutual and Wollenburg v. Bank Mutual, filed in the Circuit Court of Milwaukee County, Wis.; and Parshall v. Bank Mutual, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The claims were dismissed with prejudice.

The companies noted that the supplemental disclosures were voluntarily made to prevent the merger's delay and corresponding costs; they are not an admission of the legal necessity or materiality of the disclosures.

Green Bay, Wis.-based Associated expects to close its acquisition of Milwaukee-based Bank Mutual in the first quarter of 2018.
