Viacom unit inks production deals for MTV shows in France, Russia, Canada

Viacom International Media Networks struck agreements for local adaptations of three of MTV (US)'s reality programs in France, Russia and Canada, Rapid TV News reported Oct. 7.

In France, Adventure Line Productions will produce a local version of MTV's experimental dating format "Are You the One?" for broadcaster NT1, to be entitled "10 Couples Parfaits." VIMN will also reportedly adapt the series for MTV Latin America, airing via Televisa SA de CV's Canal 5 in Mexico beginning November, as well as in Argentina and Columbia.

Meanwhile, Friends Productions will make a Russian version of MTV's dating series "Ex on the Beach," to be aired by Friday TV. The upcoming production will be the show's fifth localized version.

In Canada, Zone 3 agreed to a local adaptation of comedy reality program "Guy Code," which will air on French-language broadcaster VRAK in early 2017. Zone 3 will also produce a third season of the program's sister show "Girl Code," according to the report.
