Floridautility JEA issued anRFP seeking approximately 140,000 tons of coal for delivery from mid-Septemberthrough late December.
Thecoal will be delivered by vessel to the utility's JEA-Northside Marine Facility in Jacksonville, Fla.Bids are due July 28 and the successful bidder will be notified by Aug. 8.
Coalspecifications for JEA's Northside generating station include a minimum heatingvalue of 11,000 Btu/lb, a minimum ash content of 10% and a maximum sulfurcontent of 4.5%, a company solicitation document showed.
