Sonatrach, Neptune Energy export 1st gas from Algeria's Touat development

Sonatrach Spa and Neptune Energy Ltd. started exporting gas from the Touat development in Algeria, according to a Sept. 7 news release from Neptune Energy.

Touat will deliver around 75,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day at plateau production, with output expected to last for more than 20 years. The project will produce around 6% of Algeria's total gas exports.

The development consists of 19 development wells, a gas treatment plant for both gas and stabilized condensate, a gathering network and export pipelines, Neptune Energy said.

The project is operated by Groupement Touat Gaz, consisting of Neptune Energy Touat with a 65% stake and Sonatrach with a 35% interest.
