Regal Entertainment short interest decreases in late September

Regal Entertainment Group saw the largest drop in short interest relative to shares outstanding among Kagan-covered media and entertainment companies between Sept. 15 and Sept. 29.

The company saw short interest drop 439 basis points to 19.89% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. posted the biggest jump in short interest relative to shares outstanding among Kagan-covered media and entertainment companies between Sept. 15 and Sept. 29. The percentage of the company's shares held short relative to shares outstanding rose 208 basis points to 37.37% as of Sept. 29.

AMC Entertainment also topped the list of most shorted media and entertainment companies during the second half of September.
