Starbucks Corp. plans to shrink its global corporate workforce by about 5%, The Wall Street Journal reported Nov. 13, citing an internal memo.
Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson reportedly said in the memo that the company will lay off 350 employees in marketing, creative, product, technology and store development.
The job cuts are not aimed at employees who work in the company's cafes, according to the memo, as reported by the Journal.
Johnson said the company is looking to focus on fewer priorities with the layoffs and aims to change the way various teams work.
Bloomberg News reported in September that Starbucks is looking to reorganize the company in a bid to improve the business.
The Seattle-based coffee giant did not immediately respond to S&P Global Market Intelligence's request for comment.
