8x8 Inc. appointed Steven Gatoff CFO, replacing Mary Ellen Genovese, who will become managing director of European operations.

Gatoff will join the company Oct. 15 and will report directly to 8x8 CEO Vik Verma. He will be part of the company's executive leadership team, overseeing the 8x8's global finance, accounting, financial reporting, audit, procurement, tax, investor relations and capital planning functions.

Genovese, who has served as 8x8's CFO since November 2014, will remain as CFO through the company's Form 10-Q filing for the second quarter of fiscal 2019. She succeeds Kevin Scott-Cowell, who is set to retire on Oct. 31, after being 8x8's managing director of the U.K. since 2013.

Genovese will continue to report to Verma and will assume her new role effective on the same date Gatoff starts as CFO. She will be responsible for expanding the company's global operations, including overseeing 8x8's over 400 European employees.

8x8 is a provider of cloud voice, video, collaboration and contact center services.
