Italy's economy grew by 0.3% on a quarterly basis in the last quarter of 2017, after seasonal and calendar adjustments, in line with the Italian National Institute of Statistics' prior estimate.
Gross fixed capital formation rose by 1.7% in the fourth quarter of 2017 while imports and exports rose by 1.0% and 2.0%, respectively, when compared with the previous quarter. Italy's GDP growth was 0.4% in the third quarter of 2017.
Fourth-quarter GDP was up 1.6% in 2017 when compared to the prior year. Imports were up 5.2% in the quarter from a year-ago period, while exports climbed 6.2% and gross fixed capital formation increased by 4.4%.
